Recycling solar panels with PV Cycle - Tenesol
PV CYCLE is an association of photovoltaic module manufacturers created in 2007.
- It has been based in Brussels since 2008.
- 90% of manufacturers marketing photovoltaic modules in Europe (including TENESOL) are now members of PV CYCLE.
- The aim of the association is to collect and recycle end-of-life photovoltaic modules installed in Europe (including the French overseas departments and territories).PV CYCLE undertakes to collect and recycle all the Tenesol photovoltaic modules installed in Europe against payment by us of an annual fee based on the number of photovoltaic modules produced.
How are the photovoltaic modules recycled?
- PV CYCLE does not collect modules installed outside Europe. All modules manufactured by Tenesol and installed in French overseas departments and territories do, however, fall under the PV CYCLE recycling programme. The modules have to be sent to the Tenesol site at Villefranche sur Saône in France. The module owner pays the cost of transporting the modules from the photovoltaic installation site to Villefranche sur Saône. Comment: collection points in the overseas departments and territories will become operational in the future (no date has yet been fixed).
Are all photovoltaic modules eligible?
- All modules manufactured by TENESOL (since the activity started) can be recycled by PV CYCLE (the modules must carry the name TENESOL or TOTAL ENERGIE).
How are the photovoltaic modules recycled?
- For quantities below 6.5 kW, it is up to the photovoltaic module owner to bring them to one of the collection points.
- The map of available collection points is updated regularly at: http://www.pvcycle.org/index.php?id=113
- For quantities above 6.5 kW, it will be possible to remove photovoltaic modules from the installation site. Please contact PV CYCLE (tel.: +32 2 400 10 49 and e-mail: info@pvcycle.org)
