Architectural integration: example of our partnership with the St. Priest Cité de l’Environnement (France)

One of the key points of our intervention in this project lay in our ability to offer full architectural integration combined with the specific environmental features of this building.
Cité de l’Environnement is in fact a bioclimatic building of 4,2000 m2 of positive energy offices which are in particular home to the first environmental skills cluster in France

Solar unit: example of our partnership with Helios Bay (New Caledonia)

A photovoltaic solar unit comprises a field of photovoltaic solar modules interconnected in series or in parallel and connected to one or more inverters. Unlike stand-alone or on-grid electrical power systems (installed on buildings, normally with powers of less than 1 MWp), it has tremendous generation powers. We have equipped more than five hundred solar farms overseas, from the solar unit in an isolated site to on-grid solar units, which gives us tremendous headway in these complex applications. This proven know-how in challenging landscapes (extreme slopes, cyclone- and earthquake-prone climate conditions, etc.) have helped us provide Helios Bay in New Caledonia with the optimum solution. This enormous project to install a ground-mounted unit 40 km from Noumea in the heart of a peninsula presented a major obstacle. The site is located on a hill, which meant that we had to be particularly creative to avoid moving 30,000 m2 of earth.

Off-grid telecoms solution: the example of our partnership with Orange (Africa, Middle East)

The telecommunication infrastructures (cellular, microwave radio-relay systems, optical, etc.) are multiplying in isolated sites to maximise territorial coverage. These installations require stand-alone energy resources.

To ensure the continuity of communications and cover occasionally huge distances, these installations require very high energy efficiency with limited maintenance and servicing.

Orange launched an ambitious installation programme of standardised solar units to power telecommunication transmissions. These installations had to be configured in line with the different sunshine levels whilst meeting the needs of the local population. Orange is thus seeking to provide its customers with the best possible service whilst reducing its carbon footprint. We have been working with Orange for many years. In addition, our experience in the field, especially in complex landscapes, was invaluable for this high-tech project. The Orange solar programme started in Senegal in 2007 with 35 solar stations. The programme now covers more than nine hundred solar stations manufactured and installed by Tenesol in thirteen countries.

Manufacture

Manufacture, expertise incorporated by Tenesol

Many solar power companies do not manufacture their modules themselves. At Tenesol, we decided to incorporate this key stage in 1999, to give us full control over the photovoltaic chain and to stay at the cutting edge of technology.
With two module manufacturing plants - one in France (Toulouse) and the other in South Africa (Cape Town), we have regularly increased our production capacities over the years.
In 2010, to meet growing demand, we increased our production capacities to 170 MWp, i.e. the equivalent of 800,000 photovoltaic modules a year.

Operation and maintenance

Helping you operate your photovoltaic solar installation

We ourselves own solar units overseas. We also project manage and operate 560 solar plants worldwide for an installed power of 61 MWp. We use our expertise acquired over the last 27 years to assist you in operating your photovoltaic solar installation.

We offer you two operating modes

• You operate the installation yourself: we guarantee the construction of the installation.
• Tenesol manages the operation with two possible contracts: a contract for the quality control of the installation and a contract for the operation guaranteeing the efficiency. We then provide training and an after-sales service.
  
  
  

After-sales service and first-class maintenance

We attach special importance to the quality of our maintenance work and after-sales service. We offer a full maintenance and servicing package to best cover all your needs. This includes an « Initial Pack » (preventive maintenance) which you can supplement with three additional packs: « Advantage », « Privilege » or « Millennium » (curative and supervision maintenance).

Initial Pack:

You optimise your production through preventive maintenance, a telephone helpline and an annual production report:

• A technical team listens and responds to your queries.
• Annual preventive maintenance of electrical cabinets: visual inspection of the entire generator, accessible fixings and electrical connections, inverter function tests (display, checks that they are working properly).
• An annual inspection report listing the maintenance operations performed and any recommendations.
• Consultation and confidentiality of information about your production on the website www.qualisun.com.
• Enter a login and password to access your generator's production data.
• An essential website to monitor your photovoltaic generator on a daily basis (events log and emailed alerts in the event of an alarm).
• Production report over a one-year observation period (from the date of signing the contract).
• Comparison with the production estimations proposed initially.
  
  
  

The Advantage Pack includes a guaranteed call-out to your generator within three working days in the event of total or partial failure.
Rapid call out after receiving your alert.

• Parts and labour included during the warranty period for failures covered by the product guarantee.
  
  
  

The Privilege Pack includes a guarantee of inverter availability for 98% of the theoretical operating time.

• Daily remote monitoring (on working days) of the generator by the Tenesol supervision centre.
• Automatic triggering of troubleshooting in the event of an alarm.
• If the inverter fails: call out on site and rapid repair.
• Parts and labour included throughout the entire maintenance contract period for failures covered by the inverter product guarantee.
• Tenesol will pay you compensation if the inverter availability is not achieved.
  
  

The Millennium Pack offers a full service to guarantee the production of solar power.
Tenesol commitment to 95% of the estimated production year on year from a predefined weather station. The guaranteed production is calculated at the end of each year using actual sunshine data.

• Daily remote monitoring (working days) of the generator by the Tenesol supervision centre.
• Automatic triggering of troubleshooting in the event of an alarm.
• If the generator fails: call out on site and rapid repair.
• Parts and labour included throughout the entire maintenance contract period for failures covered by the product guarantee.
• Tenesol will pay you compensation if we fail to achieve our undertaking.
  Should the estimated production be more than 105%, the savings will be shared between you and Tenesol.
